The Dormitory's Dark Secret: A Lethal Legacy

The sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the ivy-covered walls of the old dormitory. The air was cool, carrying the faint scent of pine from the surrounding forest. It was a place where the laughter of students echoed through the halls, but tonight, the laughter was replaced by a silence that seemed to whisper secrets long forgotten.

Sophie, a freshman with a penchant for adventure, had been chosen to lead a tour of the dormitory for the incoming class. She stood at the entrance, her voice echoing through the empty corridors, "Follow me, and let's uncover the mysteries of the old dormitory."

The group of nervous freshman shuffled behind her, their footsteps echoing in the silence. They had heard the rumors, the whispers of a haunted dormitory, but they were determined to face their fears head-on.

As they reached the second floor, Sophie's voice grew more excited. "This is where it all started," she said, pointing to a room at the end of the hallway. "The room where the first student went missing."

The door creaked open, revealing a room filled with old furniture and dust-covered books. The air was thick with the scent of decay, and the silence seemed to press down on them like a heavy blanket.

The Dormitory's Dark Secret: A Lethal Legacy

One of the students, a boy named Alex, stepped forward. "So, what happened here?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Sophie's eyes glinted with a mixture of fear and curiosity. "They say that the girl, Emily, was found here, but she was never the same after that night. She would see things, hear voices, and eventually, she just vanished."

The group exchanged nervous glances, and Alex's eyes widened. "What do you mean, 'she vanished'?"

Sophie's voice grew solemn. "They say she was seen leaving the dormitory, but no one could find her. It's like she just... disappeared."

The group moved deeper into the room, their footsteps growing louder in the silence. Suddenly, the door slammed shut, and a chill ran down Alex's spine. "What was that?"

Sophie's eyes darted around the room, but she didn't answer. Instead, she led them to a small, dusty box on the floor. "I think this is what we're looking for," she said, opening the box.

Inside, they found a journal, its pages yellowed with age. Sophie took it out and began to read aloud. "Dear Diary, I can't believe what's happening to me. I hear voices, and they tell me things I can't understand. I'm scared, but I don't know who to turn to."

The group exchanged worried glances. "So, she was hearing voices," Alex said, his voice trembling.

Sophie nodded. "And it gets worse. The journal says that the voices are getting louder, and they're telling her to do things she doesn't want to do."

As Sophie continued to read, a sudden noise echoed through the room. The group spun around, their eyes wide with fear. The door had opened, and standing there was a figure cloaked in shadows. The figure moved silently, its eyes locked on Sophie.

"Who are you?" Sophie demanded, her voice steady despite the fear that gripped her.

The figure didn't respond. Instead, it reached out and touched Sophie's shoulder. A cold shiver ran down her spine, and she felt a strange sensation, as if her soul was being pulled away from her body.

The group lunged forward, but the figure vanished before they could reach it. "Sophie!" Alex shouted, his voice filled with panic.

Sophie's eyes fluttered open, and she found herself sitting on the floor, her heart pounding in her chest. "What happened?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Alex knelt beside her. "We saw a ghost," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "A ghost that touched you."

Sophie's mind raced. "But why me?"

Before she could answer, the door slammed shut again, and the room filled with a cold wind. The group exchanged worried glances, and Alex stood up. "We need to get out of here."

They rushed to the door, but it was locked. "How did it lock?" Sophie asked, her voice filled with panic.

Alex's eyes widened. "The journal. It must be in the journal."

They searched the room, and eventually, Alex found the journal. He opened it and read aloud. "Dear Diary, I can't believe what I just did. The voices told me to lock the door, and I did it. I don't know what I'm doing, but I'm scared."

The group exchanged worried glances. "So, the ghost made you lock the door?" Alex asked.

Sophie nodded. "And now we're trapped."

Suddenly, the door opened, and the figure appeared again. "You must leave," it said, its voice echoing through the room.

The group lunged forward, but the figure vanished before they could reach it. "Follow me," it said, and it led them to the window.

They reached the window, and the figure pushed them through. They fell to the ground, their hearts pounding in their chests. They looked up to see the figure standing at the window, watching them as they landed.

"Thank you," Sophie said, her voice filled with gratitude.

The figure nodded and vanished. The group stood up, their hearts still pounding, but they were free.

As they left the dormitory, they couldn't help but look back. The old building seemed to be watching them, its eyes filled with secrets and darkness.

Sophie turned to her friends. "We should never have come here," she said, her voice filled with regret.

Alex nodded. "But we learned something tonight. We learned that some secrets are better left buried."

As they walked away from the old dormitory, they couldn't help but wonder what other secrets it held, and what dangers might be waiting for those who dared to uncover them.
